She's the daughter of a serial killer… They're FBI agents…

No one knows Freya is actually the daughter of the Cross-Cut Killer, America's most notorious serial killer. Living under a false identity as a detective is isolating but at least Freya's safe. That is until she falls onto the radar of Special Agent River Park and his team.

River, Oz, Elijah, and Jude have been chasing the Cross-Cut Killer for years. They're the best the FBI has to offer, not to mention unfairly attractive. They know exactly who the killer is but he's always one step ahead of them. Freya is about to change that.

When Freya's true identity is uncovered, she's forced to work with River and his team. All Freya wants is to catch her father, getting involved with not one but four FBI agents would be a very bad idea.

River and his team aren't prepared for the spitfire young woman who's too pretty for her own good. She's hiding more than scars, and a woman with secrets might just be kryptonite to a group of profilers.

Killer of Mine is a mature new adult romance with elements of enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, darker moments, and open-door spice. This is a why-choose romance, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book one of a planned trilogy but does not end on a big cliffhanger. For mature listeners.

This has a good plot. Not a lot of stupid going on in this story. It is story so you have to suspend some aspects of reality and just enjoy. Happy reading!

Very nice plot

The spice was perfect and the story was great, I really enjoyed this audiobook and immediately picked up the second. My only gripe is the accents, especially the Irish one, were not great. Overall, great listen and I highly recommend.

pretty hot, okay a lot hot! All the MMC's are dominant, while there is one main dominant they all are. From the start the sexual tension is there and each sexual scene was hot! The plot is really good! She's the daughter of a serial killer but she became a detective to arrest him.

I flew through this book like it was a crime scene I wasn’t supposed to be at. The plot isn’t hard to crack, but the pacing makes it easy to binge.
The audiobook is narrated in dual by the great Brooke Daniels & Gabriel Michael! They’ve done an amazing job to embody so many characters (5 mains + side characters!)

Freya is a detective with a fake identity. She’s trying to stop the man who raised her, while pretending she isn’t the girl he created.
Enter the SCU team in charge of the main investigation to catch her serial killer of a father:
- River is the controlling boss,
- Oz is the quiet observer & tech guy,
- Jude is the sweetheart,
- and Eli is the storm who hates that he wants her.

The investigation adds just enough structure to balance the harem buildup, even if that part sometimes feels a bit rushed. I’m still uneasy with Dom/sub dynamics being thrown into books where one of the characters has severe trauma in their past.

But I’m absolutely here for the trauma, the tension, the sweetness and a heroine who refuses to stay broken.
I’ll see where the second book leads me 😬

3.5

I enjoyed this. I liked the writing style and the overall mystery was entertaining, even though I guessed the big twist pretty early. While I still liked it it did make things a bit less exciting for me.

Unfortunately I found the relationships… forced. Like there’s really no emotional connection or connecting in any way. I’m assuming they just thought she was hot and they were all into her because of that? I would have liked more build up beyond attraction. The best one for me was with Eli, cause he had to come to terms with things, though I would have liked some more communication as well.

Good, but...
