Mattimeo should have been named "trouble". Always getting into mischief and quick to lose his temper, the young mouse seems an unlikely candidate to take up the great sword once wielded by the legendary Martin to defend Redwall Abbey's peaceful way of life. But when Mattimeo and his friends are kidnapped by the fierce fox Slagar the Cruel, the bold little mouse learns that there is far more to becoming a true warrior than simply brandishing a sword.(P)2004 Recorded Books, LLC Action & Adventure Animal Fiction Animals Animals & Nature Fantasy Fantasy & Magic Fiction Literature & Fiction Science Fiction & Fantasy

I have loved reading Brian Jacques novels for many years, but I am disappointed that the only one read read by a single person (Stuart Blinder) is Redwall. I really wish there were more treated the same, I don't enjoy the full cast, but tolerate it.
To readers who may balk at the quality of the sample (like myself), the actual recording is much better and cleaner. Otherwise I would have returned it right away.
The music between chapters is really irritating, especially the repetitive overly-sampled voice that sounds like they're saying "doo-doo-doo-doo". Just have to grit your teeth and ignore it if you want the story.
The things you put up with to be able to do chores and read at the same time.

A great sequel to Redwall

The narrator is the author and it is fun to hear the excitement, inflections and animations he surely imagined for the story as he wrote it. A good sequel to the first book Redwall, it is entertaining and captivating. I would recommend it for anyone that loves a storyof good vs. evil.

Entertaining!
