Because of SOOO MANY people complaining about the cliffhanger, I waited until all 3 parts were released before I started it. I'm so glad I did because if i didn't have part 2 I would have not been very nice in this review LOL.

The story started a little slow for me but it didn't take long for me to be completely engrossed in the story line. I can't really say much more without giving away spoilers except Charlie seems like a brat, when she reacts to things without thinking about them so i think she must not be a very nice person. The narration is good except I don't love the male narrators voices for anyone except Silas.

I think that looking at the context of what the book is trying to do is better than taking it at face value. The reviews I've that don't like it are looking at it very practically, instead of a cool what-if. If you read this thinking why are they doing this alone, then try looking at it more as a mystery you're trying to solve with them. Like the movie Memento.

I'll admit though, parts of the jealousy of the main male character and the snide bitterness of the main female had me eye-rolling here and there. All in all, the end had my intrigued.

Interesting Plot to a Novella series

This is not as engaging as some of the other CHoover books I’ve read. Not a huge fan of the performance although the voices likely fit the characters BUT my biggest pet peeve with this (should’ve read some of the reviews) is that it ends abruptly. You have to purchase the second book. Feels like you’re paying twice for one book; not a fan. If you want to read this one, might be better to pick up the printed book.
