Listening after decades ago reading Pipi's adventures are as silly today as they were then which was the point, of course. It was fun to do my chores with the audio going meanwhile thinking how much fun Pippi was when I was six and seven. I really wanted her horse but even then I knew a horse should really be in a pasture rather than on the veranda. I did wonder how someone her age could be so strong, too. Interesting memories.

My children loved listening to this, but chapter 11 is missing no matter how we download the book. It skips from chapter 10 to the ending credits. Chapter 11 is a delightful imagining of Pippi’s birthday party, so it is a pretty major omission.
