Exhausted, beaten down, and bloodied, the Black Flags gear up for a recovery mission. Pressed between two vastly larger forces, they are no longer able to sit on the sidelines and build up power. The hunt is on, but the game has changed.

Bringing new high-tech toys to the party, Alex and Sophie launch their offensive campaign against both Amp and Chiwen’s forces. Desperate to protect those they love, and no longer held back by ghosts of the past, they put their carefully crafted plans of revenge into motion.

Blood will be spilled. Lives will be ended. The only certainty is that the world will never be the same.

A great way to end an arc. Can’t wait for the next one. The geeky tid-bits sprinkled throughout the book are great.

What can I say about Joe Kuster?

He manages to write the most endearing characters with an oceans worth of emotional depth. The end of this book really wrecked me. It has a lot of really good moments and the story just flows.

I also like that he doesn't bullshit you with the capability of characters. No desk jockey to super soldier here and even normally stoic characters falter at times. It really makes me feel like these are characters and not tropes.

All that being said I'm with Muse, if you don't get on this story soon it's fever dreams for you Joe!

All hail the Dark Queen, long may she reign!
