Two Volumes in a Single Offering!

Ten years after defeating the Architect and bringing down the System, Sloan Park believed his battle days were over. Settled in a mountain cottage with Sara, he traded godhood for peace, splitting firewood instead of enemy skulls and finding quiet satisfaction in an ordinary life.

But when Luther appears with news of a Category Red alert, Sloan's retirement shatters. A new threat tears through Zone 7, something worse than Rifts, spawning white-helmeted Harvesters that transform reality itself. And they're calling Sloan's name.

The "New Dawn Protocol," meant to recreate System benefits without its dangers, has instead opened a door to something ancient and hungry from beyond.

I've listened to this story from book one, and I just can't bother to take it seriously. The System is treated like humanity's greatest enemy, yet the story itself couldn't exist without it, and the characters are so divided that the MC barely has an ounce of room to BE the protagonist.

Either embrace the System's empowered reality, or don't. Trying to straddle the line just feels disingenuous.

Well written, but tonally confused

Promising start, Love the genre, however the series read like a rough draft, or a collection of brainstorming ideals for a good story. If I had known the story wasn’t ready for consumption, I would have not purchased it.
Books 1-4: Promising, Books 5-7: Incomplete and disjointed, Books 8-9: Rough Draft or story notes. The early stage of the creative process for story telling.
My recommendations skipped this series. I wish I had. You’ve been warned.

Disappointing
