main dude goes the highest but so damn weak. people that have no story line are so much stronger and better equipped.

it's a good story and has some good ideas. there are some parts that are forced but still a good book.

voice actor did a great job with his performance and definitely made sitting through the story possible. compared to the first book, the main character is a complete idiot and unfortunately Frurida wasn't there to carry his stupidity. More importantly, I disliked how they either gloss over important questions and only focus on climbing the tower. I'm not giving up on this series just yet but boy was it a slog getting through this book.

I don't understand why John dropped from rank c at the end of book 1 back to rank d at the start of this book. Except for that it was a decent book.
