Three times the action. Three times the adventure. Th-three times the Brody.

Amir belongs to more than exotic and wild beasts. Alexa, Brody, and the growing colony will cause long-hidden RUPAC elements to rise from the darkness, culminating in a struggle to control the new world.

As the enemies of the Osay will find, the most dangerous animals on the planet are Reach and the Rangers. But as the aftermath settles, the colonists realize that sometimes finding answers just leads to more questions...

I'm definitely a fan of this series & both authors, and even more than those, Lord Bray. he is my go to narrator, the top of my mount Rushmore. So why is a 4 star rating starting off with this caveat? Because the start of this series (first 2 audiobooks) was one of the best starts to any series I've heard...a very unique storyline and world built! And with Lord Bray at the controls? How could it go wrong?

Well "wrong" isn't exactly it. Perhaps the series & authors Anspach & Chaney are a victim of their own success? Honestly I've never read/heard a series with either of them individually...always with a co-author. But I've yet to find a series that I disliked that they've been a part of. Admittedly I have with Lord Bray (he has done so many series), but NOT bc of him...in fact his voice narration helped the few he has done that I didn't care for. But ultimately it was a fail due to the author (I won't name names bc thats not the point here...just a backdrop for my slight criticism of this book 3) and what he put in his books that Bray has done.

Here was my issue...the action was hard to follow. I often found myself rewinding just to figure out WTH is going on. And half the time I did that I still couldn't figure it out. By this time I am veteran of audiobooks, having downloaded over 200 and listened to over 100 to date (yes I have a long list of "to get to" someday). Usually with any series I like, it only gets better with each successive book thats released. Very rarely does it go backwards. To date only 1 series that Bray did was that the case for me (other than the 1 author he teams up with often that I actually despise...will not patronize someone who constantly attacks a large segment of the real world population in the name of wokeism)...and I dont mind naming the 1 series Bray did to give an example of a series that started off SO GOOD...but in book 2 of that series, for me, got worse and worse: Titanborn. Awesome premise, but fundamentally shifted in book 2 and never got back what was so good to start that series (imho).

So i am hoping this series doesn't suffer that same fate. I dont think it will. The underlying premise of this series is good. Titanborn the fundamentals of the story shifted drastically in book 2 and got worse thru the rest of the series for me. Wayward Galaxy may be a victim of awesomeness set up in book 1 and continued to book 2...of that great success and also the authors paired with Lord Bray.

But for me, Its just odd...this one didn't flow like the previous 2...action wasn't clear about half of the book...often times names were dropped into the book and often some names sounded too similar to each other and hard to follow that too.. Overall it was hard to follow the fringe characters very well. The execution of the overall story was the issue for me and it made the sequence of events in this book difficult to follow and enjoy. I am hoping whatever happened in this book can be rectified with book 4. Hopefully the authors take this mild criticism to heart and not become bitter by my comments or other's. Why would I spend over 30 minutes writing this out of my busy day of that wasn't the goal I had in mind? I WANT to like this series and WANT it to succeed...I WANT both author's track record and success to grow, as I do for Lord Bray too. Especially for Mr. Chaney...since he is the co-author with my favorite author at this time, Christopher Hopper, for the Ruins series (Galaxy & Earth series alike)...

Yes...I want their mantra to match Brody's...

I ST-ST-STILLLL GOT IT!!

Unusually mediocre for both authors & series

I’ll be back for part 4. Bray is great, as always. The story is a little drawn out but the character building always takes awhile.

Enjoyable Story
