Nina can never forgive Maggie for what she did. And she can never let her leave.

They say every house has its secrets, and the house that Maggie and Nina have shared for so long is no different. Except that these secrets are not buried in the past.

Every other night, Maggie and Nina have dinner together. When they are finished, Nina helps Maggie back to her room in the attic, and into the heavy chain that keeps her there. Because Maggie has done things to Nina that can’t ever be forgiven, and now she is paying the price.

But there are many things about the past that Nina doesn’t know, and Maggie is going to keep it that way—even if it kills her.

Because in this house, the truth is more dangerous than lies.

What did I just read? Creepy , lots of twists, some dark humor... Highly recommend. Really good narration too. Not sure how anyone could give a bad review. I’ve read lots of psycho thrillers and this one is so original and so well executed.

Omg wow!!!

At last a very good story. Have listened to many mediocre books, this one was very good.

If you think this is a story about a daughter that keeps her mother locked in the attic, you are right - and that is what 3/4 of the book is about. It is long and drawn out. While it is entertaining, there isn't a lot to it until you get to the in depth details of "why" towards the end of the book. I would pass on this one if I had the choice again.

Mildly entertaining- took a long time to the point

An unexpected plot with many twists, but very dark, and somewhat disturbing to listen to. If you need a happy/satisfying ending this isn't for you.

Interesting, But Disturbing Plot
