"Narrator Kirt Graves strikes just the right notes in this thoughtful exploration of grief, life, and the afterlife" —AudioFile on Under The Whispering Door

The Bennett family has a secret:

They're not just a family, they're a pack.
Wolfsong is Ox Matheson's story.

Oxnard Matheson was twelve when his father taught him a lesson: Ox wasn’t worth anything and people would never understand him. Then his father left.

Ox was sixteen when the energetic Bennett family moved in next door, harboring a secret that would change him forever. The Bennetts are shapeshifters. They can transform into wolves at will. Drawn to their magic, loyalty, and enduring friendships, Ox feels a gulf between this extraordinary new world and the quiet life he’s known, but he finds an ally in Joe, the youngest Bennett boy.

Ox was twenty-three when murder came to town and tore a hole in his heart. Violence flared, tragedy split the pack, and Joe left town, leaving Ox behind. Three years later, the boy is back. Except now he’s a man—charming, handsome, but haunted—and Ox can no longer ignore the song that howls between them.

The beloved fantasy romance sensation by New York Times bestselling author TJ Klune, about love, loyalty, betrayal, and family.

Critic reviews

"Fans will be delighted."—Publishers Weekly

"An exciting start to the [Green Creek] series."—Library Journal

"It's a flawless book and shows that you can take the fantastic and make it so very human. I thought the supernatural would be what grabbed me but instead it's Ox's humanity and humility and loyalty. I hope there will be more. Wildly recommended."—Mary Calmes

Beautiful Storytelling • Emotional Depth • Distinctive Character Voices • Found Family Themes • Complex Worldbuilding

The author clearly wanted to a deeper story that was so much more then just sex and werewolves I appreciate that. But, then the reader…. His words were clear and easy to understand but there was no infliction on the voices it was like a first reading throughout, example: MC has a minor character pinned to the ground with a weapon slowly forcing its way through minor character’s flesh while he demands for answers. The minor character literally sounds happy and teasing at first while he is pinned like a dandy from a Victorian romance novel teasing someone during a stole in the park… only for it to mildly gain some weight to the voice when blood starts to pool from the wound. Most of it’s read with the enthusiasm of a reader forced to do a bullet by bullet instruction manual to simply jolly and teasing with everyone except the MC as the MC has only one bland tone of boredom and clearing doesn’t want to be there even when sex is on the table.

Beautiful romance

First time listening, I had to start all over and listen through it all over again. A possessive gay werewolf romance story - who would have thought it'd be so emotional.

I do wish there was more elaboration and exploration, especially on the early chapters when the relationship was still platonic. The jealousy, possessiveness and heartbreak during the romantic portion was gripping. I hope the sequels are equally so.

One Complaint: I need more!

As a native Oregonian who grew up in a small rural town on the Western side Wolfsong and the setting of Green Creek felt like going home. From the Oasis Cafe to the house at the end of the lane I loved every second of this beginning to a saga.

Homely and Nastolgic

The storyline is quite excellent however please do get yourself ready for a very lengthy ride. It is a longgggggg book, full of love, sorrow and all the rollercoasters of emotions and wolves ❤️
