Det er upraktisk, hvis man vil holde noget hemmeligt for hinanden, men meget rart når den nye organist opfører sig temmelig skræmmende, og når Ærte ser en mystisk pigeånd, der går amok på orgelet i kirken, og når BJ kører galt og bliver forvandlet til en sær jesustype.Ærtehalm - alting fryser er en uhyggende roman om sælsomme hændelser i et isnende koldt Varde.

I Ærtehalm – Mug i Blåvandshuk skal Ærte og H på cykelferie langs den jyske vestkyst, men strander på en campingplads i Blåvandshuk, efter deres far er blevet forelsket i isdamen. Men Ærte og H opdager, at campingchefen er virkelig underlig. Han udstopper dyr i sin fritid med egyptisk mug og lusker rundt nede ved bunkeren på stranden. Desværre kan Ærte og H ikke finde ud af at holde sammen, som de plejer.
