Sacrificial Sinners is the second book in the Blackwood Institute series. It picks up where the first book left off. You must read book one in order to understand what is happening in this book. This is not an interconnected standalone.

Brooklyn's men are left feeling devastated following the aftermath of the first book. There are a lot of hurt emotions and feelings of betrayal. Brooklyn is upset that she's still alive. Her mind is totally unhinged in this book and it is exacerbated by the introduction of "the Devil." Blackwood management has transferred and there are very dark happenings in the Z Wing. This book was so dark and definitely spicy!

Overall, I enjoyed the plot but sometimes felt like spicy scenes were thrown in just for the sake of being thrown in. I loved how dark this got and cannot wait to find out what happens in Desecrated Saints!!!

The audiobook is narrated by Bridget Bordeaux and Grant Armstrong. The narration was done so well! Other than my complaint of not having different narrators for each male character, I found the acting to be fantastic. Bridget Bordeaux portrayed the panic, anxiety, and madness of Brooklyn West in a manner that made me feel like I was in her head. I was feeling the desperation and terror that was being portrayed. I highly recommend listening to the audiobook as your read along with the physical or e-book!

I liked the ending but it was rough getting there. The poly relationship just feels forced not the closeness needed for them
To be compelled to do whatever it takes to fight for each other. That said I’ll continue the series when the next one comes out

Wow, I did not see any of that coming. I sort of guessed who patient 7 was, just from the story told, and I’m glad I was right. But omg I am hoping he can snap out of it. I need him to be ok. Sadie deserves it, Jude deserves it. Brooklyn and the boys are in for a long road ahead while they tackle this mess. But I think they have the best crew for the mission.

I am eating this trilogy up. I always love how well J Rose does mental health representation, but the found family trope in this book specifically hits me so hard. I was becoming emotional watching this close-knit family get over some of their differences and sticking together through thick and thin. They have every reason to be torn apart and broken down, but they still manage to persevere using each other as strength. I love how strong and resilient our FMC is, and I can't wait to see how this trilogy is going to wrap up.

I had the opportunity to listen to the a.l.c of this book and just as with book one, im now trying to resist the urge to dive right into the third book! Because that cliffie!

I love Brooklyn as an fmc! She's so broken but still manages to be strong and snarky!

The men.. Eli, Kade, Hudson and Pheonix once again each bring their different personalities to their relationship, and they all complete each other so well! Eli is still one of my favorite mmc's!

This series has so many twists and turns. And whenever you think you've got it figured out, you're hit with another twist. I've been on the edge of my seat since the beginning of book one.

The narration was amazing! Bridget Bordeaux and Grant Armstrong did an amazing job bringing themm all back to life in book two! The way they bring all the emotions and Bridget voices Brooklyn's anxiety and depression is just phenomenal.

I can't wait for the third audiobook to come!!!
