Holy smut

So I feel like for a book like this to be successful, it can’t be a short read. There’s too much dark and not enough “redemption” (or what redemption there is feels really hard to believe). This happened for me. I just didn’t buy any kind of love story and instead felt myself asking if the doctor needs therapy. Gave major Joker/Harley Quinn vibes (if they both didn’t go full psycho). Audio note: very well done! Enjoyed both narrators greatly.

The female voice was like listening to people learning to read. Even speeding it up was awful. It lacked chemistry and passion in the narration. I wish I would’ve just read the book because the story was good.

A great novella with a good plot and smutty smut. In the Lauren Biel grey scale in my opinion it’s on the light to medium side. I think this would be a great introduction into not only her world, but dark romance. Maxim is deranged but you can’t help but to fall for him as you read. He’s messed up and he knows it but he still has heart… it just deep in there. I love the forbidden, taboo therapist/ patient trope and I’ll never say no to a masked lunatic. I also absolutely adore the nod to across state lines by the mention of the I-90 unaliver. I found the male narrator to be great for Maxim and I didn’t mind the female narrator although at times I felt like she was a little stiff but it didn’t take away from my enjoyment! Overall it’s a book I’ll be recommending!

The stalker setting, bad guy gets obsessed with his therapist. With a twist never seeing cantaloupe the same, lol. Ending left me with wanting more, this can’t be how it ends. Overall, enjoyed it!
