Will a chain keep me captive or help set me free?
I was lucky to escape my last pack with nothing but a few scars—a cheap price to pay for my freedom.
It was supposed to be just another run to calm my wolf, but I wasn't going to ignore those cubs' screams for help—even if they were from a rival pack. What I didn't expect to find was a feral vampire, or the wolf who would change everything.
The Alpha who caught me is like all the others-all raging temper and muscles. And yet . . . his pack is different than mine.
But no matter how much my wolf cries 'mate', I need to break free. It's time I accept the truth: I don't belong anywhere. My wolf will never settle for anything less than she is, and no other wolf will accept what I am:
Different, an anomaly . . . A female Alpha.
Contains mature themes.

I enjoyed how the wolves got to decide who they wanted to mate with instead of instant mating bonds and I did enjoy the chemistry between Bailey and Derrick but I personally have a huge aversion to cheating tropes. Even though I didn't like Rebecca as she was the caricature mean girl and her and Derrick weren't in love... Bailey was still the other woman in this story. No if, ands, or buts. I would have been less affronted and maybe enjoyed this more if Rebecca was actively betraying Derrick/the pack or cheating herself but no... Rebecca's only crime was being an unlikeable b*tch. Derrick and Bailey made her into a villian. Derrick kept both Bailey and Rebecca on the line and it made his character look horrible. Even Bailey looked bad as she was supposedly our "girls girl, protect the females" alpha. Idk, they aren't bad characters and I do prefer more complexed characters who are allowed to make mistakes but they both just overall left a bad taste in my mouth so it was hard feeling anything but sour when they finally got the chance to be together (*cough* immediately after Derrick humiliated Rebecca *cough *) since they both lacked the emotional maturity to atleast try to do things the right way.
I also couldn't believe they just expected Rebecca to just be fine with it? Being ruled over by them both and she'd just... Get over it lol? Especially when her daddy was already looking for a reason to be evil? When he should have already been dead to begin with lol just very dumb decision making in this book. I found myself sympathizing with Rebecca and wanting her to get her revenge and that's when I knew this series perhaps isn't for me haha but it did give me a great webcomic idea to work on lol. Though I'm interested in Lyra and Xavier's romance I don't want to consume anymore of Bailey and Derrick's story to get it. Appreciated the free read though!
Not for you if you don't like cheating tropes.
