Rav has finally reached Viensic, the capital city of Netherdawn, also known as the city of magic.

A wonderland of innovation and power, but a deadly secret hides inside darkened alleyways and seedy shops. A trap has been set for Rav and JesRyn, who are unaware of the danger that is hunting for their lives.

An enemy out for revenge, JesRyn’s deadly past and an uncovered assassination attempt will leave the pair fighting to survive. They’ll have to put their lives on the line to get out of Viensic, but a noose once hung won’t go empty for long.

How much will Rav and JesRyn have to sacrifice in order to escape the city of magic?

This book couldn't have had a better title. And I loved it! It no secret that I love Raverek, Rav' for short. Rav's always trying to do the right thing and not lose his temper. And now he's teamed with JesRyn a woman who claims to be a scholar but fights with magic, and Rav smitten. But when she is threatened, just you wait to see how long he can stick to that plan.
Ulf Bjorklund has done amazing voice performance for this series. And I'm gonna be on the lookout for more of his work!

Best titled book evarrr. And I loved it!

This one was a hard read (listen). It seemed like the most of the book was panic attacks, beat downs, and internal or external torture sessions. If negative character growth is a thing, then that too. It's well written with the exception of randomly nerfing the MC, and it flows and was performed well. Overall, I think this was more similar to horror genre than cultivation genre novels and I was not expecting that, so heads up to the listeners that may follow.

Seems like all the problems the MC is facing is due to someone hiding information because "they just wanted to protect" someone. It's a cheap story telling trick that taken an okay premise and tips the story into cringe.

performance of the narrator was good and the.
