It's 1882, and once again, Oliver Redcastle is about to dive into mayhem. He's no stranger to bloodshed. Memories of the men he has killed, first as a Pinkerton Detective, then as a Union Army sharpshooter haunt his days - and his nights. He dreams of putting his past behind him and, upon learning that he has unexpectedly inherited a house in Baltimore, vows to start a new life for himself and his daughter.

Barely settled into his new home, Oliver makes the acquaintance of John D. Rockefeller. Oliver's hopes for a peaceful life are shattered when Rockefeller offers him a job investigating a railway explosion and makes it clear that Oliver had better take the case - or else. With little choice, Oliver accepts the assignment and is plunged into trouble once again.

A whirlwind of mystery follows as Oliver digs deeper into the city's past and an old Civil War encampment reveals old betrayals, triggers death, and breeds a fresh murder plot. Can Oliver foil the killer's plans and prevent his future from becoming as bloody as his past? Pick up Gunshy to find out.

It’s 1882 and Oliver Redcastle is looking to start fresh in Baltimore. With one last case forced upon him, he strives to unravel the mysteries before he ends up becoming one of the victims.

Louise Titchener did a great job of incorporating historical aspects into this very interesting mystery. I love how she kept me guessing as to what was coming next. I look forward to continuing with this new series.

Mark Johannes was the perfect narrator for this story. His performance fit exactly as I imagined the characters to be.

I was gifted an Audible version of this historical mystery. This is my voluntary review.
Set post civil war in Baltimore. Oliver Redcastle is coaxed into solving a fatal train mishap. The story is fascinating, discriptive, and action packed
All very well told. There are a lot of interesting characters. So many that I found it hard to keep them all straight without having the written word to refer to.
The narrator was easy to understand with lots of voices to discern the characters.
I enjoyed the Oliver Redcastle character so much I will be reading him again.
