When Tristan’s mother is pregnant with a girl, he hates his unborn baby sister instantly.

She was not part of the plan, nor was his mother’s boyfriend. When she’s born, Tristan loathes his baby sister, Evie, a sibling he never asked for and one who is inferior to him.

Early on, he learns online that women have one purpose: to serve men. Tristan develops a peculiar habit involving his sister, and while he works hard to become a proper Chad, his sister’s mind is set on him and all he has to offer.

Extreme horror, all trigger warnings apply!

This short story was gross, vile, and nasty. Reinforced that you shouldn’t eat everyone’s cooking. Good story. Formidable character development. Delicious twists. Narration for the audible was great!

Ingest Me, written by author Lesley A. Camphouse, is book one in the Communion Duet. I had the privilege of listening to the audiobook version of this splatterpunk book. I actually read book two before book one, so I knew I was in for a treat. As I mentioned, this book is splatterpunk, and it is packed with some truly gag-worthy moments. It is EXTREME.

Book one follows Tristan as he learns he is becoming a big brother to a lovely little girl. She definitely was not part of the plan, and he loathed her instantly. Tristan knew he was meant for more, that men were meant for more. Joining an online community of incels, he discovered a plethora of information and advice on how to treat them. Who knew that control would come in the form of food?

When I say this book made me gag - oh gawd, did it. I attempted to eat while the narrator, Jeremey Frazier, described the vile lengths Tristan went to add his essence to the food he not only fed his little sister, but also his mom and her boyfriend. It was a big mistake. My boyfriend actually made me stop the book until he was out of the room because it turned his stomach! LOL! The narration added another layer of ick for me, in the best way possible. It was as if Tristan were telling us his story.

If you have not had the opportunity to pick up this duet and are a fan of extreme horror, oh - and have a strong stomach, give this one a try. It does not disappoint!

Wow! Not for the timid!
