Life is pain. But for Jason, pain is about to become a weapon.

From Hardcore Horror Master Wrath James White comes a masterpiece of Transcendental Splatterpunk!

Born with a devastating central nervous disorder, Jason lives in a private hell. His reality is a cycle of mind-numbing agony where even the brush of air against skin feels like fire. Addicted to every narcotic known to man to ease his suffering, he is locked away in a padded room by day and a sensory deprivation bag by night.

When traditional medicine fails, hope arrives in the form of Yogi Arjunda of the Temple of Physical Enlightenment. He claims he can help Jason rise above the physical world. He claims he can end the suffering.

He was wrong.

The treatment leaves Jason changed—evolved into something darker. He has learned the secrets of sensation, and now he has a burning desire to share his enlightenment with you.

Perfect for fans of Aron Beauregard, Kristopher Triana, Nick Cutter, and Judith Sonnett, His Pain is a Splatterpunk and Extreme Horror classic that explores the darkest corners of human endurance.

What the actual f...This was the sickest, creepiest, nauseating, terrible, and most interesting and creative book I've ever read. I was curious, empathetic, scared, angry and that's just how I felt about one character. I'm hoping this author is locked up a secured facility in the middle of nowhere. How can anyone write, let alone, think like this? Geoff you really need to keep better company. In my 54 rotations around the sun, I have never... But my main concern is. Where the hell is Jason?

Definitely check your trigger warnings before going into this one because this book is brutal from beginning to end. I actually listened to this on audio instead of physically reading it, and honestly, I think that made it even more intense. Hearing the suffering, desperation, and chaos unfold out loud made the entire experience feel so much more disturbing and real.
His Pain follows a boy who has lived in unbearable agony since the day he was born. No doctor can explain it, no treatment truly fixes it, and his family is left desperately trying to save him while watching him suffer in ways nobody should.
What makes this story hit so hard is that underneath all the gore and chaos, there’s a deep sense of hopelessness and desperation running through the entire book. His mother genuinely wants to help him. The people around him think they are helping too. But every attempt to “fix” things only pushes the nightmare further and further into madness.
Wrath James White has a way of making pain feel almost alive in this story. The tension keeps building until everything spirals completely out of control, and by the end, the book turns absolutely unhinged in the best splatterpunk way possible.
This was short, disturbing, emotional, disgusting, and impossible to look away from. The ending especially was wild and left me sitting there thinking, “What the hell did I just listen to?”
If you like splatterpunk that mixes graphic horror with emotional suffering and psychological torment, this one absolutely delivers.

The overall story was great. The plot had a couple of areas where it didn’t match with the level of disbelief that the rest of the story required, but overall,I really enjoyed it. The narration was perfect.

Great listen of you’re into strange and gory
