A dark academia TikTok sensation packed with romantic suspense, murder, and addictive, enemies-to-lovers tension.

“Immensely fun and sexy—this book combines everything I love about dark academia and new adult! Autumn Woods wrote a winner!” —#1 New York Times bestselling author Ali Hazelwood

“I’ll love you with the same intensity that you hate me.”

At elite Sorrowsong University, hidden in the misty Scottish Highlands, Ophelia Winters is the ultimate outsider. Attending on a scholarship, she is there on a mission: investigate her parents’ suspicious deaths and destroy the powerful man she holds responsible. But everything changes when Ophelia meets Alex Corbeau-Green, billionaire heir, campus royalty, and son of her prime suspect. She’s convinced he’s a monster just like his father until a stalker emerges, and Alex becomes the only person she can trust in Sorrowsong’s secret-laden hallways.

As tension turns to yearning, Alex soon breaks down Ophelia’s walls, and her desire for revenge begins to unravel. Can she really bring herself to destroy everything he’s ever known?

With irresistible banter and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave you gasping, Nightshade is perfect for readers of Gothikana.

This audiobook edition includes a special bonus chapter from Alex’s POV!

So glad I used a credit on this one bc it was perfection! Duet narration AND multiple accents? Say less. And now I will have to figure out what to do with myself until book 2 comes out 😭

This book completely pulled me in. The atmosphere was rich and immersive, the kind of story that makes you want to stay in its world just a little longer. The love story was everything I wanted — full of yearning, great banter, and that slow-burn tension done just right.

I adored the university setting and the grumpy MMC who turned out to be a total secret golden retriever underneath it all. It struck the perfect balance between angst, warmth, and charm.

Definitely one I’ll be rereading. 💛

I loved this! The accents and the banter was perfection. Totally did not know this was a cliffhanger so I’m upset I have to wait til July of next year but definitely can’t wait for book two!

holy cow. this is the book i was searching for. I loved the mystery and the romance, and the suspense! what a freaking great read.

Ophelia was such a great character, she was so strong, and even though she cried a lot towards the end of the book, I mean she had freaking reason to do so. She lost her parents around 16/17 years old and no one knew because of the cover up. She was all alone for 4 years by herself and she had no other family.

Alex, he was not what I was expecting. I thought here comes this spoiled rich kid who doesn't have a care in the world, he's probably morally gray and won't give Ophelia the time of day, but I was so wrong. He was caring, and wonderful, and so full of sorrow and so depressed and I definitely feel like Ophelia is his sun and him to her. They complete each other like no one else before.

I can't believe that cliffhanger at the end, I can't wait for the second book. I know it's going to put us through the ringer.

this was my first read of Autumn Woods, and I really can't wait for more stories from her.

Ophelia and Alex - Eloise and Ben are perfect!!
