I was cursed.
It wasn't an exaggeration. It wasn't even dramatics—though I was prone to those. It was a fact. And a sucky one at that.
After inheriting my grandmother's home, I thought my luck had turned around. A fresh start in the one place where I'd found solace from my cruel father.
But I was cursed, remember? So rather than a quiet life, I faced mysteries, con artists, disastrous dates, stoned witches, magicks, and evil organizations out to do evil things. And a house that was haunted.
Only my ghost wasn't a creepy specter with rattling chains. Nor was it a murderous Victorian child. It wasn't even a comedic ghoul trying to scare me out of the house with a possessed singalong. That would be too easy.
My invisible squatter was snarky. Pop culture obsessed. Disconcertingly charming with a voice that was otherworldly hot.
And not actually a ghost. He wasn't completely human, either. But that was okay. Apparently, neither was I…
From USA Today bestselling author Layla Frost comes a twisty fantasy novel about fated mates, evil, and a spicy take on magicks. For mature listeners.

Still a wonderful book!
A truly cute and hilarious romantasy.

Hahahahah… I was not expecting that. This was like the exuberant cheesiness of I Dream of Jeannie mixed with the sex-on-the-brain cheekiness of Austin Powers mixed with the comedy of Ida-Mae in Ghost … but with modern-day bad-date struggles of a girl just trying to scratch that itch.
“I am the little engine that couldn’t get laid.”
Yup, this was next-level raunchy rom-com. It was juvenile. It was dirty. It was Hee.Lair.Ee.Ous!
“Ch8: Don’t Neglect the Meatballs.”
“Ch9: The Magic of Pushing it Real Good”
Ch16 “Iron Maiden and Rage Against the Peens”
This eventually folds in a magical mystery, allows Denny to scratch her itches, and introduces book 2’s couple. But, it’s less about the destination than the rom-com journey. And, bonus for the dirty, punny, pop-culture-y chapter headings. The lack of a bright orange cover with lollipops, pumpkins, and a huge lipstick smooch is almost criminal.
The rest of the series unravels into okay, mainly because the mystery and magic are merely window dressing for the romance, which loses comedy and picks up angst and drama with each new couple.
Raunchy, magical rom-com gold!
