One of the many engineers that keep Beta, the city under the sea, running, Mira only wants to make her family proud and to prove herself worthy.

She knows the mysterious city better than anyone and it's her dream to help it flourish. Then, on a solo job in an abandoned section of the city, she encounters a monster of legend: an undine, a dangerous merman from an ancient civilization, long forgotten.

Started for the promise of merman-spice, stayed for the chemistry, world building and amazing characters. I never listen to books with two narrators, at least one of them is always horrible, but this was a pleasant surprise. My new fave author!!!

The voice acting was fantastic. The personalities of the characters were very well portrayed, I could feel the emotion, and I was hooked from beginning to end! I read the physical book along side listening (lately), and this is one of the first times I haven't sped up the audio to read faster. I wanted to enjoy/absorb every word, and I did!

A monster romance I didn't know I needed, but I love.

Classic sort of beauty-and-the-beast, enemies to lovers, but make it mermen. Satisfying, well-paced and the setting is both intriguing and believable. I enjoyed the level of detail, the heroine has guts and useful skills! Both mains felt well-rounded, very entertaining.

This was incredible! Everything about it!!! The narrators were excellent, the story, beautiful and full of somuch thought out detail. I was so excit3d to get through the story but sad to have already finished it. I'm excited to listen to the second book now too!

I love this book so much I have multiple different formats! I’m so happy it’s on audio. The narrators were absolutely perfect for this story. Emma Hamm is an autobuy author for me and one of my favorite authors. If you are into monster/PNR romance then this is perfect for you.
