I should not exist. All children like me are stillborn, or die in infancy. Those who cannot grow stronger, die.

No empty child has ever reached a year of age, yet I am now 13. It has been a long and miserable 13 years, where the best I can manage to do is walk with difficulty. Sometimes, I cannot even manage that.

My clan has paid dearly for every minute of my life, and money is not so easy to obtain here at the edge of civilization. Perhaps I might have lived in this state for many years; a cripple, strong in mind but feeble in body. But when some unexpected guests come to our estate, everything changes. I will die at last – or learn to survive on my own.

The story line is very sold. The reviews regarding the lag in the main story development are very accurate. If you can suffer through the rough beginning you will have a gem on your hands.

Good But

It’s like things have to be hammered home every chapter. 30% of the story is repetitive. Like a web novel where you expect that your readers forgot what you wrote the last time you had a chapter. However this is a book in your readers aren’t morons they the ability to remember.

The voice for the ghoul it’s overly annoying, and very hard on the ears. Somethings should’ve been said to the narrator in editing

Progresses like a web novel

Not a bad book. It's a bit slow and you could probably cut 3 or 4 hour out of the book if you removed the introspection.

meh. Similar to underdog just not as dark or good.

surprisingly, good story. the progression is nice even though predictable at times not necessarily. love the progression style of the RPG and points, but the way it functions with gathering battle, friendship, building and so on is very good

surprisingly good

It start with the MC in a new body as a kid. Literally, a kid. He's between 10-13. I forgot now lol. Anyway, this book is about his Come-Up. Where he is. His "family" story. What's up with him. Where he ends up, how he survives there and this new system he just became a part of. I have about 3 hrs left at this point and that's all I've learned. I don't mind the book cause I like different types of "slice of life" books, while getting things done or being lazy. This book has no crunch, major stats, level up sounds. It's real simple while he lives a very complicated life, in a very scary area, while being a "smart kid" and working with what he got. Update: I'm at 47 minutes and my opinion is still the same.

The whole book is slow, it's a busy work book
