Well crap, this book is really good.

The first few chapters were a little slow but I find that to be common place while introducing a new story, world, and characters. Once the “intro” was complete the story pacing was great and really drew me in. I’m really looking forward to the next installment in this story as I loved the Dragon Heart series.

Really strong start. There is some strong world building. An expansive world has been created here. I hope it can continue to grow without becoming overcomplicated. Right now everything is cool and new. I like the MC. He is a cool character. His magic is novel and interesting. This world of guns and magic is unique and immersive. The narration was really well done.

From start to finish I was captivated with this book. It took everything to not just listen to it as quickly as possible, as soon as I realized the next book wasn’t going to be out till later that is.
