After barely escaping from his last project alive, Professor Elliot Brand wanted to spend a few calm months lecturing in London.

But when a billionaire presents him with the perfect mystery, he can't resist and soon finds himself in a dangerous world of Nepali spies, ancient ruins, and a truth about humanity that might change the world forever... or end it.

Blending real science with fiction, this book takes you on a journey into the origins of mankind and its many mysteries. For fans of A.G. Riddle and James Rollins.

Starts a bit slow. Began to have my doubts about it, but eventually it picked up speed and actually went somewhere. I’m glad it took the turn it did since the way it was going I expected it to be like “At the Mountains of Madness”, but no, then I expected “Congo”. Off the mark again. Similar, but not the same.

I was hesitant about starting this book, because far too often the protagonist just feels like they know everything all the time and the characters are there to either oppose or support accordingly to their archetype. This feels different… There is a Christopher Golden/Michael Crichton vibe that I enjoy, but it’s not as dark or as bleak as those authors. The main character definitely feels like he is Lara Croft’s more bookish cousin.

Fantastic adventure!
