I didn’t like the MFC, it was hard to follow the story with such a weak MFC and the narrators.

I loved it I like Cora Reilly so I’ve listened to all her book and I love this one a lot it gives you everything….you get a clear understanding of what life and redemption really is thanks girl

Although the first generation of the Cora Reilly universe will always be my favorite, I love the development of the second generation. Maximus' has so much to offer and could easily be over looked but Cora gave us a leading man worth our time.

This is a continuing saga about the New York Familia mafia families. This involves Sarah (daughter of Romero and Liliana) and Maximus (son of Growl/Ryan and Cara originally from the Las Vegas mafia). While it was an interesting story as usual for Cora, it was driving me crazy whenever they talked about Marcella and mispronounced her name, which is just a small part of the story, but very annoying especially since it happened several times. The other thing that annoys me about audiobook stories is that characters voices are switched at times during the story depending on who is narrating at the time. I don’t understand why they can’t just use the main characters voices throughout the story.
Otherwise, it was a good book. Definitely not as good as her earlier books but I do like to hear the continuation and development of the mafia families through the years.

Good story with a good ending but Sara was annoying at times with her naive attitude and initial inability to give a shit about anyone but herself. Particularly Maximo when he cared for her feelings and was kind from the start. It’s like she couldn’t read the room and was blissfully ignorant.
